Our Story
It all began with our son Xander, who was born profoundly deaf in both ears. Thankfully, with the blessing of modern technology, he underwent bilateral cochlear implant surgery at just nine months old. Like many children with hearing challenges, balance and coordination didn’t come easily at first. Determined to support his development and encourage a love for movement, we introduced him to balance bikes early on. Inspired by his journey, we founded Zalane with a simple mission: to craft high-quality, aesthetically pleasing balance bikes and safety gear that empower children to build confidence, develop balance, explore further, and create wholesome, lifelong memories on two wheels. Every Zalane product reflects the care, thought, and experience that went into our own son’s riding journey so that families everywhere can share in the same joy, freedom and independence that young riders can inspire.
